I made this visual as part of presenting a story on women representation in Indian parliament (see our initiative Gender in Politics) Women reservation bill has been neglected in Indian politics for many years. Our goal is to bring it back to focus using data. One of the objectives of the bill is to reserve 1/3rd of the contesting parliament seats to women as affirmative action.
The visual shows the percentage of women MP (member of parliament) representation in each each Indian state compared to the proposed 33% reservation (and 50% in an ideal world).
